Job Description

The Division of Plant Sciences and Technology is seeking a Senior Research Specialist to assist in the management of an applied weed science field research program conducted under the direction of Dr. Kevin Bradley.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish field research plots, apply herbicides and other treatments, evaluate weed and crop response through collection of various forms of data, and generate summaries and annual research reports pertaining to these trials for industry cooperators, granting agencies, and professional societies.
  • Work independently and cooperatively with other staff, graduate students, and faculty in the weed science program and Division of Plant Sciences.
  • Supervise undergraduate employees primarily through instruction of data collection and field plot maintenance practices.
  • Interact with industry representatives, growers, and others in the agricultural industry, and will have opportunities for participation in field days and grower meetings.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Shift

Monday through Friday; 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Some experience in applied agronomic crop production field research is preferred.

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,915.20 - $68,161.60 annually.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
