About this Role - Senior Estimator

We are looking for a talented Senior Estimator has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for estimating civil projects related to the electric utility industry such as mass grading, wood and gravel access projects, Underground Duct Bank, grillage foundations, other related underground systems and provide day-to-day leadership and direction of Department members.

What You'll Do

- Reviews proposal or project specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of the estimate

- Consults with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments and construction team to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues

- Confers with engineers, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates

- Reviews and incorporates historical data from past projects, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures

- Prepares estimates by calculating the complete takeoff of the scope of work

- Coordinates total estimating effort relevant to a particular bid / project. Review all final estimate packages with personnel prior to formal quotation, to ensure accuracy and completeness

- Participates in bid strategy and presentation meetings as requested

- Special projects and other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

- Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.

- Proficient with a civil takeoff programs such as Trimble Business Center, Insite, Civil 3D, etc

- Proven track record estimating large scale projects over 25 million

- 7-10+ years of estimating, cost control and/or engineering experience related to outside electric utility civil projects.

- Bachelors Degree in construction management, engineering or technical specialty or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
