Senior Aviation Analyst

ATAC has an opening for a Senior Aviation Analyst. This is a full-time position supporting the FAA in the Seattle, WA area. The successful candidate should be located within commuting distance to the area, but applicants from other locations may be considered based upon qualifications. The ideal candidate will have a background in air traffic control/management, and a solid technical background. The successful candidate will participate in aviation data analyses in support of the Federal Aviation Administration. Responsibilities will include:


  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis of air traffic data
  • Application of visualization software to understand air traffic operations
  • Use of simulation software to assist clients with analysis of airport/airspace operations
  • Development and deployment of aviation performance report
  • Aviation data verification and validation
  • Processing of airspace and/or procedure documentation as directed by customer
  • Calibration and troubleshooting of data processing algorithms
  • Presentation and briefing development
  • Onsite support of FAA users/customers
  • Identification of potential business opportunities
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


A background check will be required for this position.

Qualifications

ATAC is looking for career-minded people with the potential to grow professionally and advance into positions of greater technical and project management responsibility.

Required attributes include:

  • B.S. degree in Operations Research, engineering, math, statistics or related field and/or 20+ years in FAA Air Traffic Control
  • Ability to conduct engineering and planning analysis
  • Excellent PC applications skills with office tools including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and interpersonal relations skills
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency


Desirable attributes include:

  • PC programming experience (VBA, Perl, and Python)
  • Statistics background (R, Shiny)
  • Experience in air traffic control systems or as a private, commercial, and/or military pilot.
