Overview

The Director of Clinical Operations leads patient care, placing a high degree of emphasis on establishing workflows and processes aligned with Carle values to promote excellent patient care and outcomes. Responsibilities include staffing, leadership development, succession planning, clinical practice, strategic growth, budgeting, quality, collaborative relationships and regulatory compliance.


Qualifications

Certifications:

  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN, IL) and
  • National Nursing Certification

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing and
  • Master's Nursing Degree - within 5 years of hire

Work Experience:

  • Nursing - 10 years
  • Leadership - 5 years

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations and strategic planning

  • Leads operational areas to excellent patient experience and quality outcomes, and strong staff engagement.
  • Oversees finances of departments and assists leaders with effective plans for budgeting and staffing.
  • Monitors the quality of vendor deliverables
  • Address quality issues with the vendor and follows up to ensure quality product and services
  • Executes as an owner, reviewer, and approver of applicable divisional policy and procedure document
  • Develops, analyzes, and manages capital and operating budget within agreed upon standards

  • Manage portfolio of projects inclusive of contracted vendors and other related activities as assigned
  • Serves department leadership, mentoring leaders and assuring strong succession planning.

  • Contributes to organization-wide initiatives to improve patient care and efficiency.
  • Assures compliance with regulatory requirements in areas of service.
  • Ensure issues are escalated, managed, and documented with high quality standards through resolution

  • Mentors and develops managers, new peers, and other direct reports.
  • Develop strategies of improve patient care and engagement

  • Participate in medical and nursing staff education
  • Encourages shared decision making as appropriate.
  • Builds strong collaborative relationships with peers, provider colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.

  • Serves as a strong dyad partner to assigned medical director and associate medical directors.

  • Addresses and ensure that licensed clinicians are practicing within the full scope of their practice.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $62.33per hour - $107.21per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
