About the Role We are looking for a Desktop Support / Desktop Refresh Technician to assist with an upcoming hardware refresh project. This is a handson, projectfocused, temporary position supporting the deployment, configuration, and replacement of enduser devices across the organization. This role is ideal for someone with desktop support experience who enjoys fastpaced, structured project work and working directly with users. * Key Responsibilities* * Assist with desktop/laptop refresh activities, including device imaging, configuration, and deployment. * Back up and migrate user data following established procedures. * Install and configure operating systems, applications, and user profiles. * Swap out and decommission old equipment, ensuring proper asset tracking. * Provide basic break/fix support during and after device rollout. * Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on Windows 10/11 devices. * Ensure all work is documented accurately following project guidelines. * Deliver excellent customer service while working with end users on equipment transitions. * Qualifications* * 1-3+ years of desktop support or technical support experience preferred. * Experience with Windows 10/11, imaging tools, and standard desktop deployment processes. * Familiarity with Active Directory, profile setups, and general IT support practices. * Ability to lift, move, and set up computer equipment as needed. * Strong customer service and communication skills. * Able to follow processes, stay organized, and meet project deadlines. * Previous experience with hardware refresh or PC rollout projects is a plus. * What This Role Offers* * Shortterm, structured project work * Opportunity to work in a professional IT environment * Handson exposure to device imaging, deployment, and enterprise support processes * Great experience builder for someone growing in desktop or field support Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Sioux Falls, SD. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
