Your Role
As a Designer (Workplace) at Gensler with our team in Miami, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for our incredible clients. With you as part of the team, our designs have never been so engaging.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with senior designers on all phases of interior design projects for Workplace Interiors including programming client needs, space planning, schematic design, design development, and Construction Documents
- Manage coordination with engineering consultants, including structural, MEP, lighting, and AV consultants
- Maintain open communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials
- Collaborating with Technical Director, provide solutions to resolve technical and design challenges
- Work with Specifications Writer to maintain project manual and specifications
- Conduct and document site visits, process submittals, substitution requests, and RFI's during construction
- Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships
- Provide guidance, mentorship and training to teammates
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited program
- 6-10 years of relevant commercial design experience (interior architecture for workplaces), ideally inclusive of all phases through construction administration
- Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and other modeling software programs
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Enscape, Illustrator, InDesign, and/or SPEXX a plus
- Working knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements, and permit processes
- Hand rendering skills to communicate design concepts are a plus
- Outstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas
- Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
- A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills
