The Defernse Sector at Leidos is currently looking for a Technical Writer/Provisioner at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The Technical Writer/Provisioner is responsible for writing, editing, proofreading, and providing writing support for internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Develops content for various communication delivery vehicles with proficiency with XML tagging/editing, Army DTD and has experience with MIL STD 40051. Candidate has the experience to breakdown complex technical data into easy-to-follow procedures and can communicate these requirements to graphics design and provisioning components. The technical developer will have the ability to read and understand technical reports like LORA, FMECA, PPL, BOM, and can communicate findings into MAC and RPSTL documentation. The technical developer can evaluate and edit content to determine appropriate syntax, style, grammatical usage and tone for effective communication delivery and reception that aligns with MIL-standard objectives.

Basic Qualifications Tech Writer:

  • Must have an active Secret security clearance
  • Proficiency with XML tagging/editing
  • Experience with the Army DTD
  • Experience with MIL STD 40051
  • The ability to distill complex technical data into easy-to-follow procedures
  • Ability to read and understand technical reports like LORA, FMECA, PPL, BOM, etc.
  • Experience leading Verification events

Basic Qualifications Provisioning:

  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Proficiency in Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS).
  • Experience with NSN assignment/management.
  • Ability to create/maintain Bills of Material (BOM) (Provisioning Bill of Material (PBOM), Property Accountability Bill of Material (PABOM).
  • Understanding of Source, Maintenance, and Recoverability (SMR) codes, Top-Down Break Down, and Technical Data Packages.
  • Ability to utilize GCSS Army, Vantage, and other ERP systems (ex: AESIP/LMP).
  • Ability to understand and explain Provisioning technical documentation.
  • Ability to read and understand technical reports like LORA, FMECA, PPL, BOM, etc.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years relevant experience between the tecnical writing and provisioning. 4 years of directly related experience can be substituted for degree or military MOS experience.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 25% (CONUS/OCONUS)
  • Must be able to travel OCONUS when required.
