Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network / System Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC, Jersey City, NJ and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract position. Responsibilities:
- Participate in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, to include OS technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities
- Responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities
- Assist in establishment of input/output processes and working parameters for hardware compatibility and coordination of subsystems design and integration of total system
- Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource
- Provide tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor
- Influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations
- Provide input on staffing, budget and personnel
- Lead end-to-end and administration duties for critical banking platforms, delivering middleware infrastructure for enterprise projects and regulatory initiatives
- Ensure production stability, platform remediation, patching and upgrades, mitigating and managing risk
- Middleware engineering and administration include middleware installation, configuration, risk mitigation and remediation, performance tuning and trouble-shooting/triage as L3 production support
- Collaborate with customers (application teams and/or testing teams) on daily basis providing middleware advice, consultation, and support
- Create, maintain and support the application deployment templates, serving as a Citrix administration architect and making recommendations on Citrix best practices in application development
- Design Middleware infrastructure and topology design for high availability and failover capability
- Meet all policy, baseline, and standards along with business requirements
- Provide technical consultation to other team members and their supported areas
- Communicate with business partners at an enterprise level; Interfacing with internal customers and external vendors for consultation at various points of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Execute production changes for integrated and regulatory releases with precision
- Design, Install, configure and maintain a scalable and high availability virtual environment utilizing Citrix Hosted Virtual Desktop and Published Applications
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience
- 5+ years' of systems engineering experience
- 8 years' of experience working in virtualization and EUC related fields as an engineer
- Management and support skills in a large corporate enterprise consisting of 100,000 endpoints
- Experience with the architecture/design of Citrix environment with 40,000 concurrent users
- Experience operating, maintaining, optimizing, and expanding the virtual infrastructure to include virtual servers and virtual desktops using Citrix and VMware technology
- Thorough understanding of platform performance analysis, telemetry, and performance related troubleshooting
- Strong experience implementing best practices in an end user environment
- Citrix policy engine experience
- F5 Gateway APM function and configuration understanding
- Ability to troubleshoot complex environments including
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work assignments
- Understand how to use PowerCLI to manage virtual machines and virtual infrastructure - proven scripting ability is a strong asset
