  • UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region's only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

  • The RN Supervisor for Postpartum and Pediatrics provides leadership and operational oversight to ensure safe, high-quality patient care and team performance.
  • This role is responsible for managing staff scheduling, daily assignments, and productivity while setting clear expectations and maintaining accountability through coaching and corrective action.
  • The RN Supervisor promotes exceptional patient experience by conducting regular rounding and implementing effective service recovery strategies.
  • They lead educational initiatives, including skills and drills training and competency validation, to ensure staff readiness and compliance with clinical standards.
  • Additional responsibilities include performing chart audits to maintain documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance, facilitating monthly team meetings, managing delegate assignments, and ensuring clear communication across the unit.
  • This position plays a key role in fostering a collaborative, people-first environment that supports both patient care excellence and professional development.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Active Texas RN License
  • Associate's degree in nursing
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
  • NRP
  • ACLS
  • PALS

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • 2+ years of experience
