Job Description




As a Security Officer - Civic Complex Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents. You will support access points, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and document observations while delivering strong customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned buildings, corridors, stairwells, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and screen visitors according to post orders, directing individuals to the appropriate departments and assisting with maintaining orderly entry and exit.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from site contacts and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Complete accurate reports and daily activity logs, document observations and incidents, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 6 or more months of security experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
