Sr. Platform Engineer, Data Platform

Technical lead for the Data Platform team. Own architectural decisions, lead technical processes, and mentor junior engineers while delivering critical platform components to build Mirion's Enterprise Data and AI Platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and architecture for cloud infrastructure and DevOps systems.
• Own code review process and enforce engineering standards across the team.
• Mentor Platform Engineer I's and II's, providing technical guidance and career development.
• Drive technical processes: incident response, on-call rotations, runbooks.
• Build and maintain Terraform modules, CI/CD pipelines, and automation scripts.
• Design and implement observability, monitoring, and alerting systems.
• Collaborate with Sr. Data Architect on platform technical direction.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, or DevOps.
• Expert-level knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud services.
• Strong Terraform skills, including module development and state management.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
• Strong communication skills: written, public speaking, and interpersonal.
• Familiarity with security and compliance in cloud environments.
• A product-driven mindset, putting customer experience and value first.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Databricks infrastructure and administration.
• Background in data platform or data engineering environments.
• Experience with observability stacks (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service tooling.
