Student Accessibility Services (SAS):

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) works with 4,000+ students with disabilities every year to facilitate equal access and reasonable accommodations. SAS works closely with faculty, Housing, and other departments to ensure disabled students experience equal opportunity to the campus experience. A primary function of SAS is to facilitate 10,000+ accommodated exams each calendar year, supporting over 1,000 students and faculty in the process. SAS also explores ways in which the UCF experience can be proactively designed with disability access and inclusion considered from the outset so as to minimize the need for reactive accommodations. Overall, SAS' accessibility work spans most areas of campus with opportunities for various engagement and the ability to make a campus impact.

The Opportunity:

The Testing Assistant is responsible for working with a team of people in Student Accessibility Services to support an accommodated test proctoring system that manages approximately 10,000 exams per academic year. The Testing Assistant will contribute to all areas of the processes used to manage the scheduling logistics with students and faculty. Work is generally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and will include an adjusted schedule of approximately 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm for 1 - 2 times per week at various times during the year. The position involves a high level of detail management, individual work, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team of 5 - 6 individuals who are all tasked with collectively facilitating accommodated exams in a timely manner.

Classification Title: Program Support Specialist

Responsibilities:


  • Multitask across a variety of responsibilities warranting extreme attention to detail, including but not limited to processing test requests within the SAS database and careful preparation and coordination during final exams.

  • Manage tremendous amounts of details regarding test times, length of time for test, nuanced details, and exam requirements as communicated by professors, and other specific information that must be effectively stored and communicated to the testing team.

  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff regarding exam details, test scheduling preferences, and concerns that may arise before, during, or after testing; requires effective verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Communicate effectively and continuously with the SAS team regarding all of the testing logistics.

  • Support SAS front desk work, including but not limited to answering phones and greeting walk-in guests, and supporting SAS in other operational areas as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with managing information in databases.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
