Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I)teamis responsible forthe full lifecycle of Microsoft's cloud infrastructure, spanning siteselection, development, and operations. The CO+I Energy Analytics team builds data platforms and insights that support Microsoft's global datacenter growth and sustainability goals.

We work across the CO+I Energy Team to translate complex energy data into trusted, actionable insights that inform decisions at scale. Our work helps the Energy Team plan, operate, and optimize responsibly as Microsoft continues to grow its cloud footprint worldwide and solidify its leadership in providing infrastructure for the global AI economy.

As a TechnicalProgram Manager,EnergyAnalytics, you will be focused ondeveloping thebusinessanalytics and actionableinsightsrequiredtooperateand scale one of the world's largest corporate energy portfolios.A successfulcandidate will havea strongunderstandingof theutilityindustry,energymarkets, and regulated rates.Theywill have the ability toidentifyand solve problems,collaborate with cross-functional teams toidentifybusinessneeds,andindependentlydrive initiatives to completion.They will bring an innovative, collaborative presence to the roletoenableenergy analytics to scale with confidence as our portfolio grows, helping the businessrealizegrowthgoals,managecosts, and meet sustainability targets.This role willprovidethecandidate witha unique opportunity to join a high impact team and gain exposure tobusiness-critical topics ofenergy markets anddata centerinfrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Solution Definition:Defines success criteria and performance metrics (e.g.,objectivesand key results [OKRs], key performance indicators [KPIs] such as qualityand performance) for programs, solutions, services, or integrated systems with limited supervision. Works with partners and/or stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Design) to ensure needed telemetry is developed with guidance. Understands and presents the return on investment.

  • Program Management:Breaks downthe program into projects and ongoing operations with minimal guidance. Collaborates with others to track, coordinate, and communicate end-to-endproject schedules for multiple features or functional areas (e.g., product, service, systems),leveragingautomation, artificial intelligence, and/or workflows where applicable. Helpsmonitorprocesses and hold stakeholders accountable for following the established schedule and processes.Helptrack and manage dependencies to enable cohesive, connected user scenarios, and toidentifypotential risk areas and escalate appropriately. Begins toadjustorcourse correction when projects are not aligned to schedules or goals.

  • Orchestration and Collaboration:Works within and across teams toenabledata sources, methodologies, analytical tools and processes, and business and client needs, tofacilitaterelevant insight generation, reporting, and interpretation. Engages stakeholders toidentifyand act on opportunities toleverageresources and solutions that were instrumental to success in similar contexts, and consults across teams on decisions related to analyses, insights reporting, and/or their interpretations.

  • SupportADO Pipelines:Coordinate resources throughAzure DevOps (ADO) pipelinesand other Azure Infrastructure (subscription, blob storage, VMs, etc.)to advancedeployment and integration workflows, ensuring efficient and reliable delivery of data solutions.

  • DataPrivacyand Governance:Adheres to data privacy and security requirements, responsible and ethical data handling and AI practices, and classification and governance rules and regulations. Ensures data have undergoneappropriate Corporate, Executive, and Legal Affairs (CELA) reviews and that work products are in alignment with principles and controls andisaware of where to seek furtherexpertiseon data privacy and security rules and regulations when needed.

  • Coordinatewith Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with data scientists,analysts,program managers, and other stakeholders to deliverresultsand coordinate regularreport outs to stakeholders and leadership.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Additional or preferred qualifications
Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
