Under the direction of the Food & Nutrition Supervisor and Operations Manager, this position is responsible for inventory, delivery, and rotation of floor stock for both inpatient and outpatient units. Employee also performs various cleaning and sanitation functions of unit pantries as well as areas of kitchen in which he or she operates. Additional tasks may be assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager.

Responsibilities
- 1. Inventory, Rotation, and Discarding of Expired Goods
- 1.1 Following order guide, takes accurate inventory of stock areas (inpatient units only- outpatient units take own inventory).
- 2. Ordering
- 2.1 Computer Ordering System: Following order guide and operating in a timely fashion, accurately enters needed items into computer system to ensure that orders are tracked for accuracy, as well as inventory and financial accountability purposes. Orders only approved items- no special orders without managerial approval.
- 3. Building & Delivery of Stock
- 3.1 Works efficiently to build stock orders so that delivery can commence in a timely fashion.
- 4. Customer Service/Communication
- 4.1 Serves as a positive example of the department, hospital, and health system at all times.
- 5. Sanitation
- 5.1 Maintains appropriate sanitation in service areas (stock areas on unit), prep areas, stock storage areas (in Food & Nutrition Department Areas/Kitchen), and of equipment (i.e. carts, racks, etc.) to assure a sanitary working environment. Notifies supervisor if/when areas need to be cleared of trays by tray passers.
- 6. Safety
- 6.1 Assures the safety of patients, staff, and visitors by following department safety policies and procedures.
- 7. Additional Tasks
- 7.1 Performs any additional assignments as required by the supervisor and/or manager
Qualifications
EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED preferred. EXPERIENCE One year related experience preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work primarily independently, but also as a member of a team. Basic computer literacy, ability to operate a handheld tablet PC to enter inventory and/or place stock orders. Able to read and speak English. PHYSICAL DEMAND While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and push racks and carts. The employee must frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds. The specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Incumbents as well as external and internal applicants who become disabled must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without the assistance of reasonable accommodation as determined on a case by case basis.
