Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring SMTS Systems Design Eng. to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Develop pre-silicon readiness and post-silicon plan to validate specific IP Systems. Identify and root-cause failures found in SoC validation and Characterization. Collaborate with cross-functional team in developing HW/SW tools to be proactively improve post-silicon validation test strategy, methodology and process. Develop post-silicon validation infrastructure (software, hardware, automation, and lab setup). Lead definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation; define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Lead the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of or wide-ranging experience with computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, design techniques, tools, and principles to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products. Can work remotely.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering or software developer role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering or software developer role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following:

  • Unix or Linux environments;
  • Python, Ruby, Perl, or Shell;
  • Object-Oriented design;
  • Software Debugging (Windows, Linux, or Unix);
  • Git;
  • C or C++;
  • Computer Architecture; and
  • Performing Software Verification.

Can work remotely.
