As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a residential location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and support residents and visitors with clear, respectful communication. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents, and document observations as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and/or delivery drivers by following site-specific access procedures and customer service standards at a residential location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification, authorizations, and/or resident confirmations prior to granting entry.
  • Register and process visitors, contractors, and service providers using approved logs and/or visitor management systems; issue temporary credentials when authorized.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound vehicle and pedestrian traffic; help to maintain orderly flow through gate lanes, lobbies, and/or other controlled entrances.
  • Answer questions and provide directions regarding community amenities, parking areas, and general property rules while maintaining professional communication.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems such as cameras, intercoms, radios, and/or access control software; report equipment concerns per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; request assistance from supervisors and/or emergency responders when appropriate.
  • Document routine activity, access events, and incident details in written reports and/or electronic systems according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with notifications, access restrictions, and/or staging areas for responders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2+ years of security experience.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
