Job Description




As a Security Officer- Tech Site - Part Time in Richardson, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a fast-paced tech and telecom location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access points and visitor activity with strong customer service. You will document observations, report concerns, and coordinate with site teams to support smooth operations. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, access control issues, and service requests.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of offices, telecommunications areas, parking lots, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors, following site badging and sign-in processes.
  • Observe for unusual conditions such as propped doors, damaged locks, suspicious persons, and/or unsecured equipment areas, and report findings per post orders.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, intrusion alarms, and intercoms, and coordinate notifications when issues are identified.
  • Complete routine reports and incident documentation, including shift activity logs, patrol checks, and follow-up notes for management review.
  • Assist with crowd control and/or queuing during deliveries, maintenance work, and special site events, as directed by site procedures.
  • Communicate clearly with client representatives and Allied Universal supervision to support daily operations, service requests, and escalation needs.
  • Support emergency response activities such as evacuations and shelter-in-place actions when directed, and help guide occupants and responders to the appropriate locations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
