Job Description




As a Security Officer Armed Medical Patrol in Georgetown, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to calls for assistance, and support staff, patients, and visitors with calm, professional communication. You will document observations and coordinate with site partners to keep operations running smoothly. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unsafe conditions.
  • Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, authorizations, and/or visitor documentation in accordance with location protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, trespassing, theft, and/or disorderly conduct.
  • Maintain a visible armed presence while following Allied Universal post orders, applicable laws, and use of force guidelines.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, access control, alarms, and/or radios; communicate observations promptly to the appropriate parties.
  • Assist with de-escalation and crisis intervention by using verbal techniques and calling for additional resources when needed.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and/or other documentation in a timely manner and according to location requirements.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff, facilities, and local public responders during medical emergencies, fire alarms, severe weather, and/or other critical events.
  • Perform contraband and/or weapons screening as assigned, using approved methods and following location protocols.
  • Support orderly movement in high-traffic areas such as lobbies, emergency department entrances, and/or parking areas, including providing directions and escorts when requested.
  • Participate in required training, maintain required armed qualifications, and handle issued equipment with care and accountability.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2+ years' law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
