What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable laws and/or regulations.
  • Conduct entry screening operations such as monitoring walk-through metal detectors and/or handheld wands, screening belongings through X-ray equipment when assigned, and directing individuals through the screening process in a professional manner.
  • Control access by verifying identification, issuing and/or collecting visitor credentials, maintaining sign-in logs, and coordinating access for deliveries, contractors, and scheduled appointments.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including building perimeter checks, parking areas, and restricted zones, noting unusual conditions and reporting concerns per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, summoning law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed, and providing clear directions to occupants.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems when assigned, and communicate observations to appropriate personnel.
  • Complete detailed written reports and maintain accurate documentation of shift activity, incidents, and screening findings, following chain of command and evidence-handling requirements when applicable.
  • Assist with traffic and/or pedestrian flow during peak periods, special events, or public meetings, helping to maintain orderly movement and compliance with facility rules.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
