Overview

The VP, Operational Excellence will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and play a critical role in driving strategic improvements across ViaPath's solutioning and service delivery. This position will be responsible for identifying and leading initiatives that optimize business processes, enhance customer experience, and improve operational efficiency for both current and prospective customers. Leveraging deep expertise in law enforcement and corrections, the VP will actively contribute to the development of product roadmaps and service enhancements. This role will ensure that ViaPath remains aligned with evolving industry trends, enabling continuous innovation and the expansion of the company's product and service portfolio.



Responsibilities

    Partner with the COO to lead the discovery process, documenting and maintaining a deep understanding of ViaPath's customer needs.
  • Leverage company data as a strategic differentiator by expanding dashboards with actionable analytics, competitive intelligence, and customer insights.
  • Metrics-driven mindset, using and generating thoughtful data analysis to inform decisions that balance the need of the customer.
  • Analyze the functionality, quality, and deliverables of all customer-facing products, applications, and platforms to ensure alignment with contractual obligations and expectations.
  • Maintain a competitive market overview to identify white spaces and strategic threats and opportunities. Develop business cases for new products and product features.
  • Drive the product management organization in execution of releases, ensuring we have the greatest possible ROIs through appropriately sized launches.
  • Manage all prototypes, pilot launches/product demos in coordination will applicable departments/stakeholders.
  • Responsible for team's successful delivery of product initiatives and customer commitments.
  • Ensure excellence in customer service delivery by driving visibility, accountability, and clear expectations across Field Services; proactively address logistical challenges while adapting to environmental factors and inmate behavior.
  • Use advanced industry knowledge and direct customer input to educate and align internal departments on emerging needs, positioning ViaPath as a best-in-class, first-to-market leader.
  • Monitor and interpret industry and competitive trends to inform and guide innovative leadership and product strategy.
  • Collaborate with executive peers to align corporate strategy with evolving market demands and product plans.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of ViaPath's business goals and customer priorities to enhance market positioning and long-term success.
  • Work closely with executive and senior leadership to shape organizational strategy, identify areas for improvement, and recommend high-impact changes.
  • Engage directly with customers and prospects to uncover business needs and share ViaPath's strategic vision and product direction.
  • Foster strong partnerships with customers to support and advance their business objectives through ViaPath solutions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Business, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in law enforcement, including corrections, with at least 8 years in senior leadership roles driving operational or organizational change.
  • Proven success leading large-scale transformation initiatives across complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience in developing and executing growth strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to manage and influence internal stakeholders, external partners, and government entities.
  • Visionary and strategic thinker with outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to drive alignment, influence change, and instill urgency around priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective negotiation and presentation capabilities.
  • Track record of managing in high-pressure, fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Skilled in identifying, designing, and implementing process improvements and operational standards that drive measurable outcomes.
  • Adept at gaining internal buy-in, building cross-functional consensus, and aligning teams toward common goals.
  • Demonstrated consultative approach with strong client management, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation skills.
  • Passion for optimizing operations through technology and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience implementing enterprise-wide change management frameworks and transformation strategies.
  • Innovative thinker with a track record of delivering creative, scalable, and sustainable solutions to complex business challenges.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time.
