Job Overview

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a top-tier department with a world-renowned faculty and staff.



The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a Research/Senior Research Associate with a focus on gynecologic cancer prevention clinical research. This is a staff research position and compensation will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant. This position will be 100% clinical research.

Essential Functions

  • Participate in the development and design of cancer prevention and treatment research studies, adhering to established and IRP approved protocols, and outlined protocol-related experiments.
  • Lead and contribute to research endeavors focused on gynecologic oncology and cancer prevention, ensuring scientific rigor and adherence to project timelines.
  • Support clinical trial design and management efforts for the PI's Global Cancer Control Program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards while also assisting in crafting grant proposals to secure funding for research initiatives.
  • Participate in grant writing principles and methodologies and be able to provide support in regulatory affairs related to grant work, including but not limited to IRB submissions and compliance documentation.
  • Apply statistical knowledge and expertise in SAS, STATA, and/or R software to analyze research-related data.
  • Integrate data obtained from programmatic research into regulatory reports or other dissemination output.

Minimum Requirements

Research Associate:


Required Education
Bachelor's Degree required in a relevant field such as Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field.
Required Experience:
In-depth knowledge of project design, implementation, and analysis within low-resourced context.
May require experience with specialized software programs.

Senior Research Associate:


Required Education
Bachelor's Degree required in a relevant field such as Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of experience in research project design, implementation, and analysis within low-resourced context.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Master's Degree in Public Health ideal.
Experience in conducting research within the field of Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Behavior in a low-resourced setting, including sub-Saharan Africa.
Experience in grant writing and/or managing clinical trials is desirable.
