Summary of Job Duties:A Post-Doctoral position is available for a recent Ph.D. graduate in the Cancer Epigenetics Laboratory of Dr. Samrat Roy Choudhury at the Arkansas Children's Research Institute, affiliated with the Department of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). The laboratory investigates epigenetic and transcriptional mechanisms of leukemogenesis, leveraging multi-omics approaches, CRISPR-based functional genomics, and in vivo leukemia models to elucidate how chromatin alterations drive gene dysregulation and therapeutic resistance in pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (pAML). This position offers an intellectually stimulating research environment with access to state-of-the-art core facilities and opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, scientifically rigorous, and capable of independently designing and executing experiments while contributing meaningfully to a collaborative research team. Qualified candidates eager to advance impactful research in pediatric cancer biology are strongly encouraged to apply! Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genomics, or related field required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong expertise in molecular and cell biology techniques, including experimental design, execution, analysis, and interpretation.

  • Documented ability to publish as first or lead author in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Experience in animal handling or murine models is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

  • Prior experience in epigenetics, cancer biology, experience with animals or functional genomics is advantageous.

  • Demonstrates independent thinking, critical data interpretation, and professional integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent, hypothesis-driven research aligned with the lab's focus on epigenetic dysregulation in leukemia.

  • Design, implement, and interpret molecular, cellular, and genomic experiments (e.g., CRISPR editing, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, DNA methylation, CUT&RUN).

  • Collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams, including clinical and bioinformatics partners.

  • Prepare manuscripts for publication and contribute to grant applications.

  • Present research findings in internal seminars, national meetings, and conferences.

  • Maintain accurate experimental records and uphold high standards of research ethics and reproducibility.

  • Assist in mentoring junior trainees and rotating students, as appropriate.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
