DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will be responsible for providing skilled work in a variety of the building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and masonry trades throughout Moraine State Park Complex including McConnells Mill and Moraine State Parks. Projects will involve construction, maintenance, and repair of park buildings, facilities, equipment, and natural resources. You will utilize a wide-range of hand and power tools and perform preventative maintenance and inspections for vehicles, equipment, and tools to ensure for safe use and operation. Within this role, you will serve as a lead worker to semi-skilled laborers, laborers, and other personnel during the completion of projects.
Other general maintenance duties may involve welding, repairing automotive equipment, plowing and shoveling snow, cutting storm damaged or hazardous trees, assembling picnic tables, mowing grass, and painting railings, bridges, and washhouses. You may also be tasked with contacting vendors and obtaining price quotations, calculating costs of supplies and equipment, estimating man-hours required to complete assignments, and preparing and submitting forms for review and approval. - This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately in March 2027.
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
