Job Summary

We are seeking a Project Manager responsible for strategic oversight and implementation, and support of construction and manufacturing operations within an assigned market area. This role operates under the direction of the Area Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy civil project management, concrete and aggregates manufacturing, drilling and blasting, and mine operations. This role is located on Prince of Wales Island in southeast Alaska.

Main Responsibilities
  • Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities established by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Support, promote, and practice the Company's core values, vision, and mission; follow the code of ethics, workplace conduct requirements, safety expectations, and all other established policies.
  • Support execution of regional business strategy and initiatives that align with company strategy, goals, and objectives.
  • Provide strong leadership and clear direction to operations teams within the assigned area; set clear expectations and hold teams accountable for results.
  • Provide mentorship to team leaders and support their development and professional growth.
  • Oversee execution of initiatives that strengthen recruiting and retention of highperforming teams.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with representatives from local, state, and federal entities, as well as with customers and suppliers.
  • Coordinate and direct the utilization of resources, equipment, and personnel involved in projects within the assigned area.
  • Participate in construction and production planning processes, budgeting, and capital planning to support operations.
  • Promote effective utilization of plants, equipment, and personnel; monitor daily labor and material yields.
  • Review and develop schedules, job cost estimates, and bidding information within the assigned market area.
  • Collaborate with customers, job owners, agency representatives, subcontractors, suppliers, and construction and manufacturing supervisors to resolve issues and improve operational efficiency, quality, and service.
  • Prepare and review reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjust operational schedules as necessary.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship meets specifications and that schedules are being followed.
  • Develop knowledge of the market area, products, sales policies, and regulatory requirements impacting operations.
  • Ensure operations are fully aligned with safety, environmental, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, and internal and external policies, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence and effectively present information to large groups while interacting professionally with managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email, PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel, and internet applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to maintain a clean driving record.
  • 7+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, aggregate materials manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams.
  • CPR/First Aid certification, MSHA, and OSHA 10hour training preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and a Physical Abilities Test (PAT).
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods in an office environment.
  • Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly.
