Pre-Treatment Plant Technician

HK Solutions Group operates an industrial pre-treatment plant in Des Moines, IA to remove oils and metals from non-hazardous liquid, sludge and solid waste. We are seeking a Pre-Treatment Plant Technician. This is a full-time, day shift position. Primary working hours will be Monday-Friday 7-3:30.

JOB DUTIES

• Perform daily facility inspections and address deficiencies
• Track incoming/outgoing waste shipments
• Treat wastewater via oil/water separation, chemical precipitation and carbon absorption
• De-water and/or stabilize solid and sludge waste
• Monitor tank capacities to optimize plant capacity and function
• Operate vacuum trucks, skid loader, pumps and/or roll-off trucks in a safe manner
• Perform necessary housekeeping to keep work areas safe, clean and organized
• Follow all safety, security and compliance requirements
• Wear and properly use safety equipment at all times

ENVIRONMENT

• Lifting, climbing and bending
• Must be able to work on feet most of the day
• Varied weather working conditions in hot, cold and wet conditions
• Strong odors and smells

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Industrial wastewater pre-treatment experience is preferred, but not required
• Facility maintenance experience is helpful
• Equipment operation (skid loader, forklift, etc.) experience is helpful
