About the Role
TheMass Properties Engineeris responsible for ensuring the accurate calculation, analysis, and management of the mass properties of military ground vehicles throughout the product lifecycle. This role requires collaboration with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to optimize vehicle performance, meet design requirements, and ensure compliance with customer specifications.

Responsibilities to Anticipate this Role
- Provide mass property services to ensure that technical, cost, schedule, performance and customer satisfaction goals are met
- Develop and maintain a mass properties database
- Create weight targets and estimate and track part/assembly weights
- Monitor and report mass properties data
- Assess Engineering Change Requests for all Weight Impacts
- Address adverse weight trends and develop/assess Corrective Actions
- Develop and implement mass property processes and tools to maintain GDLS industry leadership
- Train and educate personnel in GDLS Mass Property process and tool methodology
- Maintain mass property metrics
- Help design, develop and execute other duties as assigned
Qualifications Sought
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Systems Engineering(Other technical degrees will be considered with related experience.)
- 5 to 7 years experience sought in a similar role
- Must have previous experience with systems engineering principles, processes, and products is required
- Previous experience with mass property processes and tools is preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills is required
- Experience in a multi-discipline team environment is required
- Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Ability to multi-task, meet or exceed deadlines, and build strong team relationships with members of the communications and strategy teams
- Microsoft Office experience including PowerPoint,Excel, etc
Additional Information / Desired Experience
- This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
- This position may require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space)
- The candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Able to work overtime when required
- Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position.
- Ability to travel (mostly domestic, some international) up to 15%
