This is an exciting position that is responsible for the planning and execution of engineering support to production and leading the execution of development task orders for our ground combat vehicles.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role:
This position will be responsible for the following:
  • Possess, understand and apply the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of project management to plan and execute engineering projects
  • Generate and execute project plans and integrated schedules
  • Establish funding mechanisms to facilitate work scope
  • Forecast and maintain project demand files
  • Adept at cross-functional collaboration, Agile methodologies, and driving operational excellence
  • Establish & utilize metrics to drive and monitor project performance
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) system
  • Facilitate and support technical and programmatic events
  • Lead vehicle system-level design, integration, build, and test activities
  • Represent the project and engineering organization to GDLS leadership and our customers
  • Participate as a member of the program team leading the effort to success.
  • Prepare bids and provide bid support for any applicable RFI or proposal efforts
  • Serve as a primary technical interface for internal & external customers
  • Coordinate incoming problem reports for prioritization and processing
  • Support change processing metrics through tracking, measuring and managing aging issues to resolution
  • Evaluate and disseminate customer comments to proposed changes for immediate action
  • Propose/assess process improvements to increase through-put of design updates and customer satisfaction.
  • Will utilize Teamcenter
  • Utilize and/or develop metrics for monitoring project performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications Sought for this role:
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering. Other technical degrees will be considered with relevant experience.
    • Advanced/additional degree, MBA or MS a plus.
    • 10+ years of relevant work experience related to the role.
    • 5+ years relevant experience in the engineering/defense industries desired.
    • Demonstrated project engineering experience overseeing complex technical projects.
    • Expectation is that the candidate possesses, understands, and can apply the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of project management to plan and execute engineering projects.
    • Proven experience in technical interface with customers and ability to lead multi-functional teams.
    • Experience with Teamcenter
    • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and presentation.
    • Analytical skills and ability to direct and consult on technical analyses.
    • Must be willing to travel (domestic and/or foreign) as needed (15%).
    • Proficiency in Windows XP and Microsoft Office with adequate computer skills to manage the development of presentations and other methods of media display.
    • Knowledge of business finances, project budget management and forecasting, scheduling tools, and critical path analysis.

    Additional Information / Desired Experience
    • This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance) No sponsorship offered.
    • Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills is required Works well in team and individually.
    • Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required
