Job Overview

Komatsu is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong expertise in Electric motor manufacturing to provide technical assistance to manufacturing by evaluating methods and equipment to reduce manufacturing cost. This role will assist in the implementation of capital projects develop new and improved manufacturing methods, provide solution to daily manufacturing issues, and explore and develop cost improvement opportunities.

Key Job Responsibilities

Work Safe and be an advocate for Safety.
Provides technical assistance to manufacturing
Evaluates methods and equipment to reduce manufacturing costs.
Assists the implementation of capital projects.
Develops new and improved manufacturing methods
Provides solutions to daily manufacturing problems.
Explores and develops cost improvement opportunities.


Plans and designs manufacturing processes in industrial plant.
Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.
Develops step-by-step methods for making the products
Communicates effectively with the management, plant personnel, and individuals outside the company.
Identify and reports any cost improvements
Arranges for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates them according to specifications and quality standards
Estimates production times and determines how many workers are required to meet production schedules
Creating and approving process maps
Devises racks, bins or other containers that protect parts and insure quality
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow
Designs the layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
Assists in the design of jigs, tools, fixtures, and special equipment for CNC applications

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
  • Minimum 2-5 years relevant work experience focused on electrical preferably traction motors.
  • Familiar with standard field concepts, practices and procedures in electrical field.
  • Experience with dimensional mechanical measurement tools, micrometers, calipers, hardness testers, etc
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), AutoCAD, solid modeling soft ware such as Solidworks
