Position Overview
The Manufacturing Technician I is responsible for the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell environment. Working under close supervision, this role performs a combination of assembly, repair, and testing operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. Assignments are routine in nature and performed in accordance with established and standardized procedures. Work is closely reviewed to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform assembly, repair, and testing operations in accordance with documented procedures
Ensure all job-related documentation for cell operations is accurate, complete, and current
Maintain accurate production, traveler, and quality records to ensure full traceability of parts and materials
Communicate effectively with manufacturing management regarding issues, ideas, and solutions, both verbally and in writing
Maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with internal teams and external visitors
Adhere to all safety guidelines and properly utilize required safety equipment during operations
Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to support production efficiency and quality goals
Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
Collaborate with Manufacturing Supervisors and Managers to establish and monitor individual and cell performance goals
Support divisional initiatives and comply with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and applicable regulatory requirements
Skills and Abilities
Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions
Proficiency in using electronic data collection systems and standard computer software applications
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Manual dexterity to handle and maneuver small, delicate components and parts
Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment with minimal supervision
