The team's charter is to build-out Microsoft's end-to-end cloud infrastructure while driving down unit cost of capacity, ensuring cloud services achieve both profit and gross margin growth. As a crucial member of theteamyou will support long term bets and drive competitive intelligence to keep Microsoft Cloud ahead of competition, while enhancing transparency into cloud infrastructure investments, and safeguarding shareholder value.

The CPI MW Margin Finance team is responsible for margin strategy and investment optimization for Moder Work.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Finance Manager to partner with engineering and business leaders to deeply understand, influence, and manage the gross margin health of Office products Teams and Skype. The role partners with engineering and finance to model, plan, and implement structural efficiencies, and long-term bets. The team partners with engineering and finance partners to support the GM health of Office 365 Commercial businesses.

  • Manage the financial health ofTeams and Skypeworkloadsbyleveragingengineering partners,forecastingand budgeting, financialreporting, and owning long-range planningtargetingsteady state gross margin.Display thought leadership by continuously improving financial modeling as business evolves.

  • Partner with engineering teams & leaders to drivelong termproduct profitability.Provide business insights and recommendations to peers and stakeholders to achieve COGS and profitability goals and drive shareholder return, including cost optimization, trends, and future requirements. Manage and execute processes through engagement with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with business leaders to define action plans for financial and business analysis findings.

  • Providebusinessleadersupport and actionable insights. Reviewrecurring financial reporting and presentations.Identifytrends and formulate action plans.Determinefinancial results and conduct scenarioanalysis.Identifyvariance causes and solutions. Collaborateto ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.

  • Integratevaried data sources andassimilatethe information into a comprehensive, clear narrative.Communicateresults in a compelling and understandable message. Articulate understanding and awareness of business partnersituation.

  • Identifyand drivepartnershipwith Azure engineering & finance forcross-functional cost efficiencies and resource optimization.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and monitoring accuracy of financial documents and business processes. Drive corrective measures. Consult with business partners on sharing financial information, approved instruments and processes, and consistency with corporate policies. Collaborate with Compliance groups to ensureteamis current on company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum/Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Analytical skills, financial modeling capabilities and strategic thinking

  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous,fast movingenvironments with evolving technology and business model trends

  • Ability to communicate complex analysis ina simple way. Executive level oral and written communication skills.

  • Proven leadership skills, withdemonstratedresults in proactively driving and delivering high value/high-impact project results through both individual and v-team efforts

  • Partnering capabilities, with the ability to influence others without direct authority and appropriately push back when required

  • Comfort working at multiple altitudes, from strategic/high-level projects to detailed COGS analysis

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, quickly prioritize for impact and the resourcefulness to deliver

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
