Technical Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Technical Assistant to join the Office of the CISO CTO. This role is ideal for someone early in their technical career who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a fast-paced environment.

The Technical Assistant will support strategic and technical initiatives, assist with research and analysis, and help ensure effective communication and alignment across teams. In this role, you will work closely with the CISO Org CTO (CVP) and other experienced leaders across the organization. You will have the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects, gain exposure to executive decision-making, and collaborate with cross-functional teams at the highest levels of the CISO Organization.

• Support the CISO CTO office organization and experienced advisors on strategic and technical matters, including identifying areas of opportunity and risk.
• Assist in researching and summarizing emerging trends, technologies, and threats in software engineering, AI, and security.
• Help prototype and evaluate new technologies and share findings with the team.
• Contribute to the preparation of executive-level documents and presentations.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment.
• Participate in critical technical projects and initiatives, supporting timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Stay current with industry developments by reviewing research papers and sharing relevant insights with the team.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
  • OR 3+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cybersecurity, and/or anomaly detection.
• 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data sets to identify trends and actionable insights.
• Experience building Jupyter notebooks using Python, pandas, and related libraries.
• Experience or coursework in AI, machine learning, or cybersecurity.
• Ability to synthesize technical information into clear, concise summaries for non-technical audiences.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
  • OR 4+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber-security, and/or anomaly detection.
• Familiarity with large language models or cloud technologies.
• Experience working on cross-functional teams or supporting technical projects.
• Experience with threats, threat actors, and detection methodologies

Security Research IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
