Systems Engineer IV

Description of specific duties in a typical workday for this position:



  • Conducts comprehensive system-wide review and analysis of all aspects of the National Airspace System (NAS) development life cycle, particularly the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system, including ATC automation, communications, and navigation and surveillance elements of the NAS.
  • Provides expertise in the transition of legacy systems to modernized systems.



Requirements (Years of experience, Education, Certifications):



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (civil, electrical, electronic, chemical, industrial, mechanical, aeronautical, or computer) from a college or university with a degree curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
  • 15-19 years experience conducting enterprise level system review and analysis
  • Strong understanding of Air Traffic Control systems used for communication, navigation and surveillance
  • Expertise modernizing enterprise systems (including both hardware, software) covering activities like system installation, integration, checkout, removal, and disposal
  • Experience performing activities involving design and development, testing, installation, implementation, integration, and transition of systems, components, and equipment
  • Support for field engineering surveys and equipment and software installations
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders in the resolution of site-specific technical and program issues
  • Support the cost/benefit analysis for each site
  • Coordinate site obstruction analyses and airport airspace processes



Nice to Have (skills that are not required, but nice to have):



  • Experience supporting FAA
  • Experience performing systems engineering for the Airports, Air Traffic systems
