Software Developer The Software Developer will be responsible for the analysis, design, and development of custom applications and webservices and the integration of custom software with commercial Imaging products via standards-based exchange protocols with Java. Duties/Responsibilities: * Work with the project leadership and users to define/ analyze system requirements and design software solutions * Develop custom medical imaging exchange applications and standards-based integrations * Design and develop automated testing/ monitoring tools and functionality * Perform refactoring or repair of existing applications to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements * Participate in code maintenance, quality management, and automation of DevOps functionality * Participate in Agile software development lifecycle activities as part of an Agile team * Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/ Experience: * Expert level proficiency in Java, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems * Solid understanding of Java webservices and data exchange patterns (Restful, SOAP, HTTP/ HTTPS) * Familiarity with .NET programming * Familiar with various design and architectural patterns * Proficient with Windows server environment * Experience with DevSecOps toolkits and cloud hosted applications * Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Organized with attention to detail * Thorough understanding of information technology procedures and software development practices (including Agile best practices, Information Security, etc.) * Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software, and hardware used in the medical imaging exchange ecosystem * Ability to work successfully in a highly dynamic, team environment Preferred Experience * Experience with medical imaging exchange standards such as DICOM, WADO, QIDO, FHIR, etc. * Experience developing custom software applications at Department of Veterans Affairs or similar Federal Government agencies * Experience with Health IT, medical imaging or general clinical knowledge Education and Experience: * Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field * At least five years of related experience required. * Relevant IT Certifications preferred (e.g. OCAPJP, AWS CSA, OCMJEA, etc.) | |
