Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking an Engineering Designer to join our growing team in Bridgeport or Charleston, West Virginia. This role offers the opportunity to work across a wide variety of projects and disciplines-including civil/site development, water resources, and environmental-supporting project teams through design, modeling, and plan production. You'll collaborate with engineers and technical professionals to develop detailed designs while continuing to grow your technical expertise.

Responsibilities

Develop site layout plans in accordance with local ordinance and regulatory requirements

Create alignments, profiles, and grading designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Prepare earthwork volume calculations and support site balancing efforts
Develop stormwater management, conveyance, and erosion and sediment control designs, including supporting calculations and reports
Prepare drawing sets from conceptual planning through final design and construction
Assist with sanitary sewer design and preparation of Sewage Facility Planning Modules
Coordinate utilities and support the design of onsite connections
Prepare permit applications and supporting documentation for municipal and regulatory approvals
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across civil, environmental, and water resources projects

Qualifications

5+ years of Engineering Design experience
Associate's or technical degree in CAD, Construction, or Engineering or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field
Strong knowledge and experience using AutoCAD is required. Proficiency with Civil 3D is strongly preferred
Experience with HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, and other computer modeling software is a plus
Ability to evaluate design alternatives to solve constructability, code, and site challenges
