Description This SQL Database Administrator position is part of a shared services department and involves working in a close crossfunctional team environment supporting enterprise IT infrastructure. The role is hybrid (3 days onsite in Whitehall and 2 days remote). Responsibilities include: * Proactively performing database monitoring and performance tuning * Implementing and maintaining database security controls aligned with industry and regulatory requirements * Assessing incidents and vulnerabilities, monitoring patching status, reviewing configuration baselines, and evaluating compliance test results related to SQL technologies * Assisting infrastructure staff with performance and capacity monitoring * Staying current on best practices and technological advancements and serving as a technical resource for compliance * Developing, documenting, and revising system design procedures, test procedures, and security standards Basic Requirements * Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems (or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree) * Minimum 3 years of experience with SQL database technologies * Ability to travel up to 25% * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility verification required at time of hire * Visa sponsorship is not available * Position is subject to ITAR requirements, requiring U.S. person status Skills * Database administration * SQL Server * SQL * Performance tuning * Database management * Oracle Top Skills Details * Database administration * SQL Server * SQL * Performance tuning * Database management Additional Skills & Qualifications (Preferred) * Extensive experience with DBA frontend and backend tools * Strong problemsolving abilities * Handson experience with SQL database management * Windows operating system experience * Working knowledge of scripting languages, including PowerShell * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Excellent analytical and organizational skills * Ability to work independently or in a team environment Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Whitehall, MI.
