JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB

The Director of Retail Finance is a strategic business partner for Starkey's business unit. This job will collaborate with Starkey Leaders to develop and execute market specific distribution strategies aligned with our corporate goals and philosophy. The focus is on creating enterprise value by synergizing strategy and finance. This job requires a deep understanding of the business, and its value drivers and KPI's to translate financial performance into business stories. Responsibilities include FP&A, Budgeting, Forecasting, Capital Investments, and Corporate Development initiatives. This position collaborates closely with the Corporate Controller's in deploying a comprehensive set of controls and processes to mitigate financial risk, fraud and ensure reporting accuracy. This job collaborates closely with other members of the finance team as well as business leaders throughout the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS



  • Lead the financial planning and analysis function of global retail, including annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning and aligned with organizations goals and objectives.
  • Serve as the primary finance partner to Regional Directors, Retail Operations leadership and the Retail CEO & VP Retail Finance for all retail related financial matters.
  • Collaboration with Retail Leadership team on key initiatives and financial performance acting as the senior escalation point for financial queries by operations.
  • Optimizing data and analytics to ensure internal and external data is credible, readily available, easy to understand and relevant to support business decisions.
  • Advise business stakeholders on key financial, operational trends, market updates and provide forward viewpoints and projections.
  • Lead preparation and delivery of consolidated financial updates to the VP Retail Finance and Executive leadership team, ensuring complex issues are communicated clearly with recommended actions.
  • Manage month-end close, budgeting and forecasting processes for key business units overseeing accuracy, insight and timely delivery to the VP Retail Finance.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analyses, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and acquisitions & divestitures.
  • Leads retail enterprise transfer/internal price policy and reporting requirements.
  • Create and manage financial reports and dashboards to communicate financial performance to business stakeholders.
  • Owns the accuracy, integrity and consistency of retail financial data used for operational and strategic decision making.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate analytical tools and reporting to ensure effective and efficient management of resources.
  • Cultivate key stakeholder relationships, and provide competitive benchmarking, analysis and insights.
  • Assess transaction opportunities and establish transaction strategies to mitigate transaction risk.
  • Develop sensitivity analysis models to quantify assimilation impact of acquisitions, synergies and adverse business variables and conditions into long-range global financial forecast.
  • Drive continuous improvement and transformation financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to improve efficiency, data integrity and accuracy for leadership.
  • Manage, develop and build a high performing financial analyst team to scale rapid growth.
  • Recruit to attract the best talent, set clear performance standards and ensure strong succession planning and capability development within the team.
  • Coach and mentor employees and hold regular one-on-one meetings.
  • Establish clear and concise employee and departmental goals and objectives, aligned with business unit and company.
  • Hold employees and teams accountable to deliver results.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education



  • 4-year degree in Business/Finance. Master's degree helpful.
  • CPA/CMA certification preferred.


Experience



  • Previous experience as finance business partner.
  • 12-15 years progressive experience in Accounting and Finance roles, preference in a retail environment, including 2-3 Years of Public accounting firm audit experience.
  • Strong management and leadership experience in senior financial roles
  • Experience with a fast-paced, always-on environment


Knowledge / Technical Requirements



  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and key principles of application for a wide array of finance and accounting areas
  • Technical and comprehensive knowledge of all finance, financial planning, and accounting areas of a business.
  • Strong knowledge and exposure to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • System savvy with POS/ERP systems
  • Financial Modeling, proficient in Microsoft Excel, financial planning & analysis software.

  • Ability to drive projects to completion when starting with unknowns, competing priorities and other challenges.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills including the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of cross functional relationships across the organization


Salary and Other Compensation:

The target pay rate for this position is between $148,000 - $194,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include: geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
