Job Description:

This position is an excellent opportunity to begin a career in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) for individuals with a strong software background and an interest in hardware design.

The CAD group at Microchip supports technologies essential to the company's product development and delivers innovative solutions to the design community. The candidate will participate in various aspects of the development workflow.

The primary focus of this role is to support Design Data Management and Design Automation for System-on-Chip (SoC) projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of Microchip's design data management software.
  • Assist in the implementation and enhancement of design flows and methodologies.
  • Develop and deploy automation scripts to support electronic circuit design.
  • Administer Design Data Management Systems such as DesignSync and ICManage.
  • Research and utilize software tools and libraries to address various tasks, preferably using Python.
  • Debug and maintain existing software tools and systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation.
  • Train users on the adoption of developed solutions.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Final-year student or recent graduate with a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • 0-3 years of professional experience.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python or Perl.
  • Experience with common GNU/Linux commands and command-line operations.
  • Familiarity with version control tools (such as GIT, SVN, or CVS) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases is a plus.
  • Exposure to machine learning or artificial intelligence is a plus.
  • Willingness to adopt new development tools to improve collaboration and workflow.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $70,304-$143,000.*

    *Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
