StandardAero has an opportunity for a Welder with experience in metal fabrication equipment such as gas tungsten arc (GTAW), gas metal arc (GMAW), flux-cored arc (FAW), plasma arc (PAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW), and resistance welding.

As a Welder I, you will perform precision welding and metal fabrication work in support of aerospace repair and manufacturing operations, using a variety of welding processes and fabrication equipment. This role requires strong blueprint interpretation skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.

What you'll do:

• Produce a variety of parts from shop drawings to conform to specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
• Operate brazing and soldering equipment
• Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and other metal straightening and bending machines
• Participate in continuous improvement of processes
• Cross train in other complementary skills to support production requirements
• Observe all applicable safety requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years of welding experience
• Completion of a welding apprenticeship program; or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day

Desired Characteristics:

• Background in Aerospace/Aviation environment
• Experience with welding thin gauge material and exotic metals (Inconel and Hastelloy)
• Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications
• Thorough understanding of tool design and fabrication methods and processes
• Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, reworks process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals and MSDS labels
• Working knowledge of production management computer system and other related internal control systems
• Attainment of trade certification
• Attainment of applicable welding ticket(s)
• Well organized with attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
