Computer Optimization Specialist

Objective:
Improve endpoint performance and reduce login times across clinical workstations. Drive optimization efforts for imaging, Active Directory, and Citrix environments to support EPIC workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assess current workstation performance and identify bottlenecks causing long login times.
• Develop and implement optimization strategies for:
  • Image creation and deployment (Windows OS images for clinical endpoints).
  • Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPO) tuning.
  • Citrix environment performance improvements.
• Collaborate with EPIC application teams to align workstation performance with clinical workflows.
• Walk clinical floors to observe real-world usage and gather feedback from doctors and nurses.
• Lead a small technical team to execute optimization tasks and track progress.
• Document changes, improvements, and provide status updates to IT leadership.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Windows image creation and management.
• Deep knowledge of Active Directory, GPO, and endpoint configuration.
• Familiarity with EPIC workflows and performance requirements.
• Expertise in Citrix optimization and troubleshooting.
• Ability to lead and mentor a small team.
• Excellent communication skills for clinical staff interaction.

Engagement Details

• Contract Length: Minimum 6 months.
• Location: Onsite in Richmond, VA (clinical floors and IT offices).
• Reporting: Directly to IT Infrastructure leadership.
• Deliverables:
  • Documented optimization plan.
  • Reduced login times (target to be defined).
  • Updated workstation images and GPO configurations.
  • Weekly progress reports.
