The Neurodevelopmental Behavioral Pediatrics (NDBP) Division in the Department of Pediatrics specializes in the care of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including children with cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome, Autism, ADHD, NAS, NICU grads with significant delays and other neurodevelopmentally challenged pediatric patients as appropriate. They have a specialty clinic for these children who are in foster or community care and provide behavioral therapy and other therapy services as part of their clinic. There are currently 8 MD and 8 APP positions.
Preferred Qualifications - NP and PA welcome to apply. *Experience managing ADHD, autism and/or other developmentally at-risk pediatric and adolescent populations, including medication management is preferred but not required. *Experience: *Licensure/Certifications: CPNP-PC, CPNP-AC, FNP, PA Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen. NP and PA candidates are welcome to apply, with experience managing ADHD, autism and/or other developmentally at-risk pediatric and adolescent populations (foster care, trauma, NICU graduates). Experience with medication management with these populations is preferred, though we are willing to train a candidate who would be a good fit for our team and has an interest in these populations. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who would work well with a large team of providers (7 APPs and 8 MDs) who specialize in Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Health. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree. Experience: Department and unit specific. Licensure: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NRP, as required, specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The starting base rate for this role is $81,078.40 annually.
