Position Title: Welder
Wage: $18.00-$22.00 per hour Shift: 2nd Hours: 3:00pm-11:00pm (Mon-Fri) QPS Employment Group has a great Welder position available at a company in Rock Island, IL. This is a 2nd shift position with the opportunity for hire. Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Perform setup and all position welding on a diversified line of standard weldments and structures in accordance with AWS or other welding requirements and procedures. - Fit and position weldments having a number of parts, using weld fixtures and jigs where applicable, scribe, locate, and position parts where fixtures and jigs are not available. - Work from blueprints, drawings, process instructions and job layouts. - Layout and inspect parts using varying inspection equipment and techniques including but not limited to tape measure, scale, calipers, height gauges, templates, squares, angle finders protractors and weld gauges. - Layout and inspect parts using varying inspection equipment and techniques. Welder Requirements: - Able to lift 50lbs repetitively. - Able to stand and bend throughout the shift. - Able to work 10hr days, four days a week. - Able to work in a hot environment. - Able to read tape measures, calipers, and welding gauges. - Able to read manufacturing blueprints, especially weld symbols. - Mig welding experience or certificate through a reputable welding school. - Tig welding, layout and setup experience is preferred but not necessary. - Experience with robotic welders is also not necessary but a big plus. - Fork truck experience is a plus - only after training by client. davenport@qpsemployment.com About us: QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
