Reporting to the CEO of Risant Health, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for leading in the achievement of the mission, vision, values and operating principles of Cone Health. The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for all aspects of the organization in balancing and achieving the community focus of the healthcare system, particularly in ensuring the charter purpose that any patient will receive quality care regardless of his/her ability to pay.

Essential Job Function
  • Develops, articulates and sustains a vision and strategic direction for Cone Health as a complex and sophisticated community healthcare provider.
  • Leads with the board, executives and medical staff in a comprehensive strategic planning process tchart the specific and sustainable objectives and goals for Cone Health.
  • This will leverage the previously mentioned mission, vision and operating principles, as well as achieve the goal of providing a leadership role in the region.
  • Leads in building effective, sustainable and productive relationships with medical staff, board, team members, employees and key external constituencies and corporations, including the community health foundation.
  • Leads in the ongoing development of quality initiatives which achieves demonstrated benchmark standards in providing quality care, including clinical quality, patient satisfaction, safety and service, and ensures the system is the top choice of patients, families, employees, medical staff and members of the community.
  • Leads and develops a high-performance culture that embraces diversity in achieving the aforementioned goals, focusing on sustained quality, patient satisfaction, performance, employee development, reward and recognition, a learning environment and ensuring a superb leadership team.
  • Leads in the ongoing accomplishment of high performance standards for the organization, including financial, clinical and operational standards.

Education
  • Required:Must have an appropriate undergraduate degree with a related advanced degree (such as MBA, MHA, MD, JD, etc)

Experience
  • Required:The Chief Executive Officer must have served in a senior leadership position in a successful healthcare system.
  • He/she will have a demonstrated track record of success in building and implementing a clear vision and strategy for an organization.
  • This Chief Executive Officer needs experience in working effectively with the community and medical staff, particularly in achieving demonstrated success in quality initiatives, strategic planning and strong financial and operational performance.
  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for excellence are required.
