Job Summary:The Senior Product Manager for the Gridsmart detection portfolio (hardware, software, and computer vision) which leads the strategic planning and lifecycle management of Cubic's products. Product Management responsibilities include a broad and deep understanding of the market, customers, competitors, GTM strategies, and a firm understanding of other products in the portfolio. Works closely with internal and external stakeholders as well as customers, management, sales vendors, partners and the industry as a whole. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise decision-making authority regarding the strategic roadmap of their respective product(s).

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Product Management of Cubic product(s) in the product portfolio.
  • Leads world-class product management discipline and cross functional teams.
  • Acts as the Product Subject Matter Expert to for all regional programs.
  • Accountable for product requirement, teaming with engineering teams, product launch, and GTM strategy for the product(s).
  • Creates, maintains, and owns the strategic and tactical product roadmap and customer transition plans for the designated product(s).
  • Collaborates closely with the larger product team, market and competitive intelligence resources, product marketing, and training of business development team, coordinating with QA resources, development of field testing and implementation plans, support training, and release note documentation.
  • Ensures the interests of the customers are represented and financial targets are achieved.
  • Focuses on on-time execution, meeting customer expectations, and creating superior user experiences.
  • Provides expertise on applicable standards, adjacent markets, and supports B&P efforts.
  • Drives systemic product issues to resolution to minimize impact and disruption to our customers.
  • Works directly with sales, services, and participates on standard committees and industry work groups to identify emerging technologies, standards and trends to incorporate into the product roadmap(s).
  • Works directly with engineering resources to ensure requirements are met on schedule and on budget.
  • Liaises with other product managers to ensure product(s) are not siloed and are able to share data and services across the portfolio..
  • Develops annual product budgets, assist with sales forecasting, price book refresh, and solution development.
  • Acts as Subject Matter and Industry experts at internal and external forums.
  • Participates in the due diligence exercises relating to partnering and M&A opportunities.
  • Accountable for meeting standard based, interoperable product(s) which are capable of achieving sales targets.
  • Creates business cases, roadmaps, and product-health updates at product review meetings.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree, or equivalent, in software, electrical, mechanical engineering, computer science or related technical discipline, plus 5 years of product management experience supporting complex software and hardware products and/or an advanced degree in engineering desired.
  • Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups including executives, managers, engineers and other subject matter experts to communicate new ideas/issues.
  • Must possess a mixture of technical, business, and interpersonal skills to work closely with internal and external stakeholders as well as customers, management, vendors, partners and the industry as a whole.
  • Must be very detail orientated and be able to plan and work flexibly to a deadline.
  • Proficiency with Confluence, Jira, and Microsoft Office required.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically as needed (15% annually)

Cubic Pay Range:

$130.00 - $155.00 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
