Summary: In this role, you will lead multiple software engineering teams responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and high-value digital products for Vizient and its members. You will partner closely with Product Management and Architecture to translate product strategy into scalable, well-engineered solutions aligned to business outcomes. This role blends people leadership, technical stewardship, and organizational influence, acting as a change agent who continuously improves engineering practices, delivery effectiveness, and team health. Responsibilities: * Lead, inspire, and develop high-performing software engineering teams responsible for building, testing, and operating enterprise-grade applications. * Partner closely with Product Management to translate product strategy, roadmaps, and priorities into executable technical plans and high-quality solutions. * Collaborate with Solution Architects and Enterprise Architects to ensure solutions are thoughtfully designed, technically sound, and aligned to business outcomes. * Ensure engineering standards for quality, security, reliability, scalability, and compliance are consistently applied across teams. * Serve as an escalation point for high-severity production issues, guiding teams through effective resolution and post-incident learning. * Champion modern engineering practices, including cloud-native development, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability. * Encourage responsible adoption of AI-assisted development tools to improve developer productivity and code quality. * Lead hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development efforts to attract, retain, and grow top engineering talent. * Foster an inclusive, high-trust engineering culture that values accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration. * Coach teams on Agile delivery practices and drive strong alignment between Engineering and Product Management to improve predictability and outcomes. * Anticipate capacity and skill needs, supporting workforce planning and balancing near-term delivery with long-term technical health. * Represent engineering priorities, progress, and risks to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. Qualifications: * 7 or more years of professional software development experience building and deploying large-scale web or data-driven applications. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred. * 3 or more years of experience leading software engineering teams. * Strong experience with enterprise software development using Microsoft (.NET, C#, SQL Server) or Java-based technology stacks, along with modern web development practices. * Experience working in Agile delivery environments. * Proven ability to partner effectively with Product Management, communicate clearly, and lead through influence. * Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure (AWS or GCP acceptable). * Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular. * Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines. * Experience with data platforms such as Databricks SQL. * Experience using or leading adoption of AI-based development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar). * Experience modernizing legacy systems and engineering practices. * Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. #LI-JB1 #IDS Estimated Hiring Range: At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances.
