The Student Engagement Specialist serves learners across Arizona Online, corporate partners, location-based programs, and continuing and professional education including credit and non-credit programs. The Student Engagement Specialist conducts targeted outreach, facilitates individualized support, and responds to learner needs throughout the academic life cycle. As a part of the student-specialist relationship, the Student Engagement Specialist provides success coaching, financial aid support, and career development for current students. | Duties & Responsibilities |
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Connects students to, or provides developmentally and situationally appropriate support services, and follows up on outcomes.
- Builds strong, student-centered relationships focused on student-driven development and growth.
- Provides financial aid support by guiding students through funding opportunities and assisting with completion of requirements to support retention.
- Interprets and advises students on department, college, and university policies and procedures.
- Uses data-informed, proactive outreach to enhance the individualized student experience.
- Creates continuous and systematic improvements to student support processes.
- Develops and implements student success and outreach plans.
- Utilizes proactive strategies to re-engage students who need additional support.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated proactive abilities, problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Skilled in managing competing priorities with strong attention to detail.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelors Degree required.
- One year of relevant Advising or Enrollment experience.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
