POSITION SPECIFICS

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Asset Manager.The Asset Manager provides leadership and oversight for the University's asset management functions, ensuring proper valuation, recording and reporting of University Assets.The Manager plays a critical role by overseeing staff and enforcing policies.The Asset Management team is part of the Controllership hub within the Finance and Business division of the University.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Facilities Capitalization- Monitor Office of Physical Plant "OPP" accounting systems for new and renovation projects needing to be capitalized to include reviewing and approving OPP procurement requisitions.
  • Perform Bond Financing Audits - Review OPP expenses on projects that are directly related to a Treasury Bond Note.
  • Supervise asset management specialists- Set individual goals, oversee work assignments and monitor for accuracy. Schedule and create agenda for weekly/quarterly inventory meetings. Perform year end performance reviews.
  • Milestone Monitoring -Monitor milestones and capitalize costs from completed milestones into financial records.
  • Monthly Settlement- Reconciling monthly asset AUC transactions and posting entries correctly.
  • Monthly Depreciation- Calculating and posting monthly depreciation for capitalized assets.
  • Monthly internal order investment profile reviews- Performing monthly checks on internal orders for appropriate account assignments.
  • Audit Liaison-Acting as point of contact for auditors and providing required documentation.
  • Lease Evaluation- Assessing lease agreements for compliance and capitalization requirements.
  • Lease Recording-Recording lease details in financial systems for proper reporting.
  • Train new research administration- Create training materials to instruct ACES participants.
  • Other Duties as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 8+ years of relevant experience, includes 3+ years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. Due to the financial and fiduciary responsibilities of this position, successful completion of a credit history check will be required in addition to standard background checks. SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $68,200.00 - $102,300.00.
