Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a Revenue Cycle Manager to join our team! This position will support the DFW - West Texas Revenue Cycle Departments at our 3001 E. President George Bush Hwy Suite 100 location in Richardson, Texas. Typical work week is Monday through Friday 8:00a - 5:00p.

What is the Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)?

Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP): is an incentive program that typically vests over a three-year period and is tied to both individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. Awards are discretionary and based on your position, performance, and potential for future career growth at Texas Oncology. Awards are reviewed and approved during the annual compensation review. LTIP awards are subject to your continued employment through the award payment date, and are governed by the written terms and conditions of the LTIP document.

What does the Revenue Cycle Manager do? (including but not limited to)

Manages individual contributors responsible for nurturing and maintaining relationships with assigned sites of service to achieve practice goals. Aids in escalated issue resolution, revenue cycle management strategic planning, and site of service communications. Supports all activities associated with the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects that relate to critical business goals while ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. Accountable for people-management activities and responsible for establishing goals and objectives for the department. Follows standard procedures and pre-established guidelines to complete tasks. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology's Shared Values.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Directs the daily operation of the revenue cycle liaison department to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Ensures that daily, weekly, and monthly liaison functions are performed.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of and oversees all aspects of liaison functions, to include monitoring and interpreting revenue cycle issues and implementing recommendations that ensure optimum revenue cycle KPI performance.
  • Monitors responses and communications to site of service-initiated concerns ensuring professional and timely follow up.
  • Acts as liaison between direct reports and RBO RCM department leaders.
  • Recruits, hires and supervises staff in addition to developing and attaining performance goals and objectives. Evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Proactively identifies process and procedure gaps and develops tools/plans projects to improve efficiencies.
  • Performs periodic post-project reviews of all improvement initiatives. Identifies process breakdowns; develops and implements corrective actions.
  • Maintains working knowledge of payor policies and applicable laws and regulations as they relate to revenue cycle management.
  • Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPPA laws and guidelines with regards to patient's records and collections.
  • Other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the position will have the following background and experience:

  • Position requires degree in Finance, Business or equivalent or 7+ years revenue cycle experience.
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Must have a strong knowledge of medical insurance billing and collections with CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10, coding and medical terminology, as well as an overall understanding of managed care products (HMO, PPO, etc.).
  • Knowledge of multiple PMS platforms and oncology billing preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
