Overview

Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has an exciting opportunity for an BiTE Therapy RN to support our office in Newport News.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Coordination for the Care of patients receiving BiTE therapy drugs within the Practice as well as provide follow up education to the patient and families as needed.
  • Close collaboration with the Physician provider, VOA Urgent Care Clinics, and the effected nursing team to provide coordination of care.
  • Coordination consisting of notifying closest hospital in case of hospital admission, ensuring rescue medications are on hand in office and at closest hospital, notification to the clinical insurance review team, and to the effected nursing team.
  • Ensure compliance with therapy and therapy plans.
  • Initiate patient treatment schedules and assessment tools
  • Critical thinking and anticipate the care needs of the patient by applying full knowledge of the VOA BiTE Therapy playbook

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education required; BSN preferred
  • Two to Five years of experience in Nursing
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred
  • Current RN state license required
  • Current BCLS certification required
  • OCN certification preferred
  • Must be willing to travel between offices as needed
