Macquarie Global Services
life insurance, vision insurance, parental leave, long term disability, 401(k), remote work
United States, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia
Apr 16, 2026
This is a rare opportunity to join a high-conviction fixed income team at a pivotal moment for credit markets. Macquarie Asset Management is looking for an Investment Grade Credit Research Analyst to join our Global Fixed Income team in Philadelphia, covering a broad issuer universe with a focus on utilities and energy - one of the most intellectually dynamic and rapidly evolving corners of investment grade credit.
The energy infrastructure buildout, regulatory transformation, and unprecedented capital deployment are reshaping how utilities and energy companies are financed and rated. You will develop deep sector expertise at the forefront of these structural shifts, with your views feeding directly into portfolio construction.

At Macquarie, our advantage is bringing together diverse people and empowering them to shape all kinds of possibilities. We are a global financial services group operating in 31 markets and with 56 years of unbroken profitability. You'll be part of a friendly and supportive team where everyone - no matter what role - contributes ideas and drives outcomes.

What role will you play?

You will sit at the intersection of fundamental research and live investment decisions. Working directly alongside the Global Head of IG Portfolio Management and a globally connected credit research team, your analysis will carry real weight - investment ideas you develop can move quickly from conviction to trade execution.
This is a seat with genuine accountability in a nimble structure that rewards intellectual rigour and commercial judgement. You will conduct comprehensive fundamental research across your assigned industries, analysing market dynamics, financial trends, and capital structures to develop differentiated credit and relative value views on investment grade opportunities.
The role suits someone with curiosity and investigative drive - someone who goes beyond consensus, asks hard questions of issuers and management teams, and builds a point of view they can defend. The ability to develop strong relationships across the business at all levels will be essential to your success.

What you offer

  • A self-starter mindset - you work independently and collaboratively, take ownership of your coverage, and bring a genuine passion for fixed income and credit markets. CFA candidacy or a strong desire to pursue the designation is valued.
  • A bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of industry coverage experience in funds management, the sell side, a ratings agency, or a bank, with a strong track record of analysing IG issuers. Experience covering utilities and energy sectors will be highly regarded but is not essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to synthesise complex credit situations into clear, actionable views and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Bloomberg skills, with demonstrated adaptability to internal systems. Exposure to AI tools - including Claude - is viewed as an asset and a genuine growth opportunity as we continue to integrate these capabilities into the research process.
If you are excited about building deep expertise in a sector that sits at the centre of the global energy infrastructure buildout, and want a role where your research makes a direct impact on investment outcomes, we encourage you to apply.
