The Radiation Therapist Supervisor supervises all Radiation Therapist I, II, and IIIs in the Radiation Oncology department. This person works closely with the Director of the department to ensure staffing, policies and procedures and preventative maintenance are appropriate and/or updated.

This is a full-time, salaried position. Location is onsite.



Responsibilities

    Supervise and evaluate the work of Radiation Therapists
  • Work collaboratively with department managers and administrators to create a patient-centric cancer treatment program.
  • Schedule, lead and maintain minutes from regular monthly meetings that include Radiation Therapists and provide a consistent flow of information between the technical staff, the department, and the medical center.
  • Maintain current Radiation Therapy Procedure Books that describe treatment procedures reflecting national as well as Fred Hutch care standards.
  • Develop and maintain written policies and procedures for Radiation Therapists concerning documentation, patient and staff scheduling, billing and information flow.
  • Interview and hire Radiation Therapists according to departmental needs and within budget restraints.
  • Develop and maintain a staffing schedule that provides optimal staffing for daily operations in
    the treatment area and prioritizes patient safety.
  • Maintain expertise in all treatment areas and provide technical coverage as necessary to
    maintain daily operations.
  • Maintain excellent communication with all co-workers.
  • Monitor and schedule ongoing staff development through appropriate continuing education courses.
  • Orient new Radiation Therapy staff to departmental procedures and protocols. Ensure training and satisfactory staff performance levels on newly acquired equipment.
  • Perform annual reviews of staff that allow for a positive and instructional evaluation of staff performance in accordance with Washington State laws.
  • Perform peer evaluations of other supervisors, and managers as required.
  • Exercise consistent fiscal efficiency and make a positive contribution to the overall Cancer Center budget.
  • Maintain exemplary personal and professional performance standards.
  • Assist in the selection of costly equipment by providing a careful review of specifications essential to meet both technological needs and standards of patient care.
  • Attend departmental and medical center management meetings.
  • Review billing procedures and charge capture for the treatment areas taking primary responsibility for timely and accurate submission of all charges.
  • Work on treatment units 50% of time.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in Radiation Therapy
  • Registered in Radiation Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Washington State License Required
  • Must be able to lift, carry and push up to 45 pounds
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to foster a team environment required

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 5+ years as a Radiation Therapist, supervisory experience a strong plus

The annual base salary range for this position is from $139,984.00 to $221,249.00, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

This is a full-time, salaried position. Location is onsite.

This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship at this time.
